Reducing waste in e-commerce

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text responsive_js_composer_custom_id=”responsive_js_composer_custom_css_1954373667″]At Vida IT, we are committed to reducing waste. With the explosion of e-commerce also comes an explosion in packaging, returns and all the associated waste that comes with it.

We have been selling online for over a decade and have realised that small changes can make a big difference. This is why we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint, designing our packaging in an efficient and reusable way, reducing returns or donating unsellable items to charities that can make use of them.

They say, don’t judge a book by its cover, we design our packaging to keep the material we use to a minimum, to sufficiently protect the item while in transport to our customers. This packaging is minimalistic but the product inside is not. We conduct strict AQL control on all our products, we aim for 2% or lower return rate on our items, every component we use in our products passes strict control and certification test to ensure the quality is as high as possible.

E-commerce waste is a future problem we should all take seriously, by placing good practices in place now can avoid problems in the future.

We are not also running a return program to donate unsellable returns to charity. A lot of the time customer return items in a workable condition which are in an unsellable state. These items sometimes end up in waste dumps when they could be utilised by others who require them.

We are committed to ensuring these items are passed to others who can find a use for them. One person’s trash is another treasure.
